Connecting Ties, Inc., was established in 1994 to provide services to individuals experiencing disabilities in Valdez and the Copper River Basin, and is now one of the largest employers in Valdez.
CTI was founded by Eva Dunning to respond to the closing of Harborview Developmental Center. Eva, who had been a long time employee of Harborview, saw a void in services for the disabled population of Valdez, and had the foresight to open CTI in answer to that need.
CTI started with Vocational Services at the Second Time Around store. Soon, Care Coordination was added to the services offered and as the need for further services arose, CTI expanded and grew into the agency it is today.
Services now reach as far north as Tok, east to Cordova, and as far west as Eureka, with a satellite office in Tazlina.
CTI offers a full range of services from birth to death, and will make every effort to help anyone we can.
CTI works in cooperation with other agencies, and makes referrals to partner agencies if CTI cannot meet all the client’s needs. CTI has been dedicated to fulfilling the needs of the community for over twenty years.
